I dont think it is really a suprise given that we're both trainee artists of the same field. We dont really go to any art school, so we have to learn to draw by ourselves. the fact that we're both near-otaku with suprisingly 95% similarity in preferences, i'd have always been the mentor to his arts.
Almost all the time i would scold him for doing ONLY NSFW arts, but seeing that he can only put his FIGHTING SPIRIT in NSFW art, all i can do is help him improve.

Either
a) They are bad but like drawing. People don't like bad drawings, but love porn => bad drawing * porn = they like it, thus the artist can get positive feedback and get a self-esteem.
b) They like porn and want to draw it for the sake of either paper fetishism, the wish to share their fantasies or because they aren't creative enough to do it in any other way.
