There is a typical anime "type cast" for a character like Yuki.
1) don't talk that much
2) unhealthy skin color (very pale)
3) needs to be intelligent
4) wear glasses sometimes
5) Blueish hair
6) Not human etc

So, this is something really different.

Yuki doesn't count, her hair isn't bluish.

In anime everything starts out as parody. Sailor Moon was one. Even Evangelion could be called a dark parody of Giant Robo and Tranzor Z.

I'm not arguing against Yuki being in that archetype at all, if you're misunderstanding me. I just disagree with sticking all those criterion onto the type.

True, but odd hair colors are a part of it. None of them are blond/red/brown/black haired.

Maybe Hyatt is a stretch. I haven't seen Key the Metal Idol, but she looks like a Rei from what I've read.

I thought these stereotypical character images were somewhat universal knowledge to anime/manga fans. Even if you are not that sure, you'll see some patters after watching numbers of anime shows.
