My good sir, they are from the ninth novel. From left to right:
Tachibana Kyoko, an Esper who belongs to the group "Revelation". Revelation attempts to kidnap Mikuru in Novel 7 (I believe that was the case). Revelation believes that Sasaki, the girl on the right, is the true "god", and that somehow, Haruhi stole her powers. She tries to enlist the help Kyon, who somehow is the key to Haruhi's powers (for some strange reason). The one in the middle is Suou Kuyou, the interface created by the Macrospatial Quantum Existance (Sky Canopy Domain), the rival entities to the Data Entities. They are the ones behind the events of "Snow Mountain Syndrome". Kuyou is "crude" to say the least: hardly talks, just stands there, and the only sentence she ever spoke was to Kyon "____________Your eyes... they're... pretty...". And then, Sasaki herself. You can say that she is the polar opposite oh Haruhi: she's calm, casual, and also aware of her powers. She belives that love (and all emoitoios) are blocks in the path to evolutionary success. She still smiles and jokes, though. She was Kyon's friend from Middle School (thus by Kunikida's remark "He always likes the nstrange ones"), and can be compared to a certain extent to a Cloud-Cuckoolander. However, she is extremely rational and scientific, and does not believe in the paranormal one bit. Despite her self-acknowledged powers, she sees no use for them, and his rather quite puzzled why Kyoko wishes to transplant Haruhi's powers to herself. Her Closed Spaces are rather creepy: sunny, but not a single sound. No giants. No static. NOTHING. So, if Revelation's goal is to create a world like taht, we are in some deep shit (novel wise).
