This is an annoying song. Those "mario jump" samples, which are seemingly random and jump from ear to ear, yeah, thats the main annoying part.

I'm risking a scolding from people here, but i've overstretched my resources to look for the source of the BGM in this audio excerpt... So anything helpful is appreciated.

Linux ReNoise is out. Pic Relevant. Stay tuned...

Reg users only, for the moment...demo version to be released soon for non-reg'd users.

What's the point? It looks and works exactly the same, except you can do local midi sync with other linux softsynths and route/sync everything through jack. Vista/XP/Mac don't have desktop cubes, so I thought that was a pretty clear indication of what the screenshot was showing...Linux Renoise.

>> No.7303

now once some linux drivers are release for the soundblaster x-fi, i'll be all set.

Mac and Windows don't have an Ubuntu logo on the top-left of their screen either.

lolling at that cube being now considered an important part of the desktop linux experience.

>> No.7308

pretty sure i never said it's important...again, renoise is identical on all systems aside from the set of vst's it supports and linux runs ladspa...who cares whether you get to see it 2d or 3d? jeeze.

Here's a transparent ReNoise for you to get your panties in a bunch about too.

with your boyfriend, no doubt.

Does Linux Renoise do VST's or is wayne brady gonna have to choke a bitch?

>> No.7375

Wayne only needs to slap. It supports LADSPA and Linux-ports of VST's. Supposedly there's some wine-workaround, but I've never tried it cause I am a recovering VST street whore.

Future versions include confirmed DSSI support and rumored lvl2 support.

You could always use a combo of the two...recently, i've integrated the use of renoise more closely in pxtone...I come up with riffs and samples/loops in renoise, export, convert (read: downsample & cut) then import and play with them in pxtone. Just an idea...it's a subtle push to get you on piston source in the future...muahahahaha....ahem...I'm shameless, aren't i?

>> No.4565

>>4564
yeah, I tried that, but pxtone has been crashing on me a whole friggin lot lately.

eh, we'll see what I come up with. got some new noisebreaks stuff, some drum and bass, etc. none of it worth posting, really.

no such thing as shameless in the music industry, by the way.

What version are you using and what's your setup? 0809 and up have been rock solid for me. Now and then, the only bug I come across is a track muting glitch where it shows that tracks have been muted and still play. A quick restart after saving gets around it. It's rare when it happens, though...

>> No.4571

>>4570
I'm using 716. it's the one pistonsource linked to, that got me started.

>> No.4596

Try the newest one...the next release (hopefully in a few days) will use the 0.8 tree anyway, so PS will be updated to reflect this. I kept waiting for Pixel to stop releasing version after version...I think he's just about there, since one of his last diary entries mentioned he wants to finish up the shooter he's been working on by the end of November...we'll see...

Here's another unfinished thing.

Imported tweaked samples into pxtone after converting a full sample set from a synth I found.

Yay for that. I liked the piano and the synth so much that I decided to keep them both.

This could've gone somewhere, except that it's like a bicycle that goes nowhere. It feels like you sat down and doodled for a while. Maybe you'll use parts of it in some other track later?

Post contains a module which also goes nowhere. Not mine, of course.
