I can't remember how this song came about but it was inspired by lame trance, I remember that much...it was just a constant...gay.

LAST: Last tile I'll post to this thread..when I get back home, I'll post the entire directory...and you can leech my gay shits from there...at any rate, I took some tune I downloaded off the net and made a trance dnb song from it on a 50mhz computer, if i remember..may have been 75mhz. Oh well..it's still lame.

In June 2005, my computer broke. I had to use my sister's old computer for a while. PENIS. It was a slow machine with not much RAM. During that time, I made a lot of music using Midisoft Studio 4.

By the way, Virtua Cop 2 jungle is interesting. I can really relate to this song, because I played that game around five years ago.

OP here, I know it's a little unoriginal. I just played random 7th cords on the piano and I thought it sounded good, so it's not very creative in that respect. I really don't know enough theory to compose anything more complex than that (although I am trying).

You don't need to know theory to compose music. You can make up sounds in your head, and think " hey that sounds good" and write the sounds down using some method.

I know that very well (that's what I do when I make music, this song for example), but the little theory I know helps me get my ideas out a lot better, and I'm sure that more will help. I don't use it as a tool for creating music, I use it as a tool for making the process easier.

OP here. I made another track and I tried to sound as gameboy-ish with the FL Studio demo I am using (I need to buy this soon, it's actually pretty cool).

Anyways, comments are appreciated, and be as tough as possible. I already think it's a little repetitive at the part before the very end, but then again I've listened to it too many times trying to find every flaw.

If you're using FL, I recommend you start amassing VSTs. For instance, to get that lofi 8bit sound, I can recommend a lot of tweakbench VSTs (http://www.tweakbench.com/) and the YMCK magical8bitplug (http://www.ymck.net/english/download/index.html)

I get those same short loops over and over. They're usually atonal or bizarre, but melodic/catchy.. just these minimal patterns. I haven't had it happen for a while though. The best way I can describe it is little ditties alike the GameBoy Camera's soundtrack.

Just this morning, I was sleeping in the bed. And right at that moment, I was having a dream. In the dream I was using some kind of machine... it had the feeling of being something along the lines of those toy crane machines. Like you'd win toys or stuff. It was related to sonic somehow. And while this was happening, some music was playing in the dream. I remembered the music, so I made this midi file.
