These guys need to lighten up. Unfortunately, Angry Wahabism is Angry and Strong in Saudi-Arabia.
They've got angry wahhabism, you've got angry born-again christians and baptists and whatever the literalist strains call themselves these days. No difference really.I mean, come on. "Should be killed in all cases". Someone's got a desert spider up their arse.

>>8562Very probably, because people kill in the name of their beliefs, and killing in the name of religion is only one subset of all belief-based killings. Dawkins may advocate for a society freed from the shackles of religion but he is by no means an advocate of nihilism; quite the contrary, he strongly urges people to recognize the validity of evolution (i.e. to believe in something); and so long as people believe in something, then there is always the likely chance that someone will come along and kill somebody else over a disagreement.Didn't South Park already go over this? The atheists in the future were still fighting wars, only now it was over whose name was the best name.It isn't that the Saudi sheik is religious that he has issued this fanatical edict: it is simply that he is a fanatic. A fanatical member of Green Peace might advocate killing the Japanese whalers. A fanatical member of PETA might advocate killing chicken farm managers. A fanatical redneck may attempt to assassinate an ethnic minority leader. And a rational individual may kill -- with heavy heart -- in self-defense, to defend his wife, or to defend his country.Beliefs, sir: people who kill do so in the name of beliefs.

The Fed's proposal is similar to Greenspan's rescue of Long-Term Management LP (LTCM) which roiled financial markets in the late 1990s. Paulson has signaled that there be NO government bailout like Bear Stearns when the Fed bought up $29 billion in mortgage-related assets. Similarly, the Treasury has hitched its wagon to Fannie and Freddie which expands the National Debt by another $5.2 trillion and seriously undermines the "full faith and credit" of the US in the process. Keep in mind, the biggest source of American power is its access to cheap capital via the US taxpayer. Paulson has now put that source of revenue at risk by nationalizing the housing industry and burdening the taxpayer with (potentially) astronomical future obligations, even though he knows full-well that the market could drop another 15 to 20 per cent before the end of 2010. America needs a serious dose of Reverse-McCarthyism. Basically being right-wing should be considered UnAmerican, with witchhunts & show-trials to destroy anyone remotely Republican - and the Religious Right (an oxymoron if there ever was one; when has a Fundy ever been RIGHT?!) considered Public Enemy No. 1 (with people given free reign to hunt down & eliminate all right-wing Xtians). The Right are WRONG for the US.

Absolutely wrong. Witch hunts and psuedo-patriotism are both fail. We used to live in a republic where people were allowed to believe in whatever they wanted. Now we have a political system that's turned into a blood sport and brother turns on brother over which team to cheer for. Neither side is un-American, the very idea of Un-American Thought is un-American. I just want my republic back.
