"WASHINGTON (AP) — Iran is ratcheting up its support for militias in Iraq, providing them with newly manufactured weapons and bringing them across the border to receive training from members of Tehran's elite Republican Guard, U.S. military officials said Friday.

Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the military is preparing to roll out evidence — such as date stamps on newly found weapons caches — that shows that recently made Iranian weapons are flowing into Iraq at a steadily increasing rate.

Mullen would not detail the evidence — which is expected to be unveiled by military leaders in Iraq as early as next week. But another senior military official said it will include mortars, rockets, small arms, roadside bombs and armor-piercing explosives — known as explosively formed penetrators or EFPs — that troops have discovered in caches in recent months."

Thing is, no solid evidence has been provided for these claims in the past. And the claims themselves seem to support this pro-Iran invasion charge too well to be credible at this stage, given that the "chickenhawks" have been eyeing the other Irxx for some time now... due to their rumblings about trading oil for Euros, of course, as with Iraq.

Also who the heck uses "ratcheting up" in ordinary speech? That reads like something a PR office had thought up.

Right after they create it

Bet the timestamp evidence is based on an unconventional reading of a XX/YY/ZZ triplet.

Jesus you guys are either (1) thick-headed or (2) don't know how to properly keep a gag running. Obviously 6276 and 6281 are being sarcastic. No need for you to spell it out (6282) or to completely miss the boat (6284).

I thought that the militias was using the weapons that the US Forces gave them? You know, the ones that they couldn't track anymore?

One Word: Oil

>>6269

>due to their rumblings about trading oil for Euros

Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman & Brunei are already doing so, and not purely for anti-US reasons. They had foresight enough to see what was happening with America's economy, and the way it's screwing itself right now, so they're trading with a more secure currency: €s. And Bush & co have to kiss major Saudi & UAE arse to ensure they'll still sell their oil in $. US buys Saudi oil, House of Saud funds clerics who teach & enforce Wahhabiism in Saudi (and they indoctrinate Al-Qaeda, including You-Know-Who!). Hell of a paradox, eh? Win the 'War Against Terrorism'? Forget it.
