What is the most logical(Means realistic but magic/scifi is allowed as long as it's... logical) system you can think of?

>> No.260

something out of a westpoint text book

>> No.279

Call of Cthulhu; when you get shot you are at least severely injured, usually you faint, with anything larger than a .45 you are likely to be killed, depending on your character.

>> No.318

FUDGE, but then again that depends on how it's run (and the core rulebook tends to encourage movielike styles of play).

I've never played it but apparently the combat system is very realistic.

Are there any WH40K-legal Sigmund Freud figurines?

Isn't this true of most everything that doesn't use a hit point-based system?

Like Shadowrun, where pretty much everything has a chance of killing you in one hit if your opponent has even average stats, and even light injuries give noticeable penalties to everything you attempt, and take days to heal.

>> No.385

>>383
Getting shot is pretty much the least lethal thing that can happen to you in Call of Cthulhu, anyways.

>> No.491

CoC does use hit points, it just doesn't have to get all the way down to 0 for you to be out.

>> No.534

>>385
Well, yeah. How can getting plugged by a puny 38. compare to say, getting eaten by a Shoggoth? In a game were most encounters can cause -INSTANT DEATH /INSANITY MOTHAFUCKA!!- getting shot isn't so bad.

>> No.536

And sometimes mercifully quicker.

>> No.550

Any system designed by wargamers.

Better to say it's the least agonizing thing that can happen to you.

>> No.623

The original Cyberpunk game. Before 2.0.2.0, before 203X. Ballistics, called shots, the whole deal.
