Is there such a thing as a solo role-playing game in the vein of D&D? I like D&D/40k, but I have no-one to play with.

They've mostly been killed off by video games.http://www.projectaon.org/en/Main/Home
Tunnels and Trolls had some solo adventures.
Old adventure books...
You could play a game based off of D&D. Knights of the Old Republic for instance is a good game based off of Dungeons and Dragons rules.
starwars rpg 2nd edition (I believe it was 2nd, but it might have been 3rd...) had a solo adventure to teach you the ropes. I would have liked to see more solo rpg games, kind of like choose your own adventure, except sometimes instead of making a choice a dice roll would choose for you.

Nah I'd say Planescape: Torment.
Well if one can find a copy of it.
I've heard planescape rocks the casbah, but where might one find a demo?
I actually liked those paper and pen games. LoTR and that board game that had warrior, dwarf, elf and a mage.. Too bad it's not fun to play on your own. I'm so lonely. But anyways, there's always Angband with it's variations, Nethack, Baldur's Gate and of course the newer 3D MMORPG's like Guild Wars or such.
