The way I've done it now is the old URL in the sidebar gives the browser a 301 Moved Permanently to the new URL. Feel free to update the sidebar link or not update it.

Lolicon isn't for real pictures, you dolts. And yes, it's aimed at the er, child lovers, but damn it, it's not CP. There's a giant difference between drawing naked kids and taking pictures of naked kids.
Although some retarded politicians would like you to think that it ought to be illegal, I fail to see how drawings of kids can be abused, and by the logic for which CP is illegal, there isn't any reason lolicon should be. Now I'm not into that sort of thing, but someone's gotta have some sense or else some right-wing jesusfreak will end up banning all pornography outright for non-reasons like "immorality" rather than for any coherent argument against it.
Although I would not be against having the /l/ board return as it was in the early days of idlechan, I am sure as hell not going to host it on any of my servers.
On another note, I think you could keep most of the creeps out if you restrict it to drawings of adolescents. Wikipedia calls it "hebephilia", no idea what kind of board name you could derive from that though =p

IIchan can do whatever it wants, but I want to trim wakachan's sidebar in half. This egotistical splintering is killing both old and new boards; everyone loses.
Vocaloid won't just focus on Miku porn, but creating stuff for vocaloid in general.
Especially that I'm hooked into it.
Maybe this belongs here, maybe it doesn't. Just commenting that some boards listing in the normal image boards section are certainly not worksafe any longer. I don't visit often any longer but specifically the RO board and the Ah! My Goddess boards have porn all over them. Either somebody no longer monitors them or whoever administers them decided to change them to NSFW boards. Can they be moved to the adult section? Or new mods to cover them or something?
How about "Work-safe", "Mixed", and "Adult"? Other boards use that categorization, and it seems to work well.
You'd sort of have to coordinate with each board to figure out whether the content should go into the work safe category or not...
(... "work-safe" is not necessarily a guarantee, merely a suggestion. No open internet forum is truly work-safe, of course; that would take a dedicated moderation team reviewing each post before it is made public, and I hardly expect any board here to do that)
Movie ratings might be a bit more intuitive?
i.e. "PG", "R" and "XXX"
sure, I understand I give up my right to worksafe blah blah ... I'm one of those guys who doesn't like porn. I understand stumbling on a pic or two when I browse image boards but if a board is 80% porn I think it should be moved off to the adult section so I know what's board is safer than others.

That's highly US-centric. Each country has its own definition of ratings, and they're hardly similar.
Putting [15+] or an [Ecchi Inside!] symbol next to a board's name would convey it best. Squeezing boards under a new category based on some nudity being ok would not be a good solution IMO. It would just up muddle up navigation in the sidebar. There's already like a hundred links there so let's keep some clarity.

Well - maybe. If you accept that some things will spill over, you can argue that porn still wouldn't make it all the way to "worksafe".
But what, should board owners be forced to have three boards for any one topic? (Might not be too hard to set up, of course.) And how do you stop the SFW boards from drying up completely, if anything remotely ecchi goes to the "middle" board?

Do you have javascript and cookies enabled?
When you post without a password, a bit of javascript generates one automatically for you, and the password gets set in a cookie and filled in when you come back to the page.

Hello from Naka-kon! As of yet, I have not seen anyone who knows what iichan is, though the guest panels have been very entertaining. I did find Blackmage, but he's been very busy being all official-like and setting up for the rave.

I drove 3 hours from Hannibal this morning and spent about 3 hours at the con. I blew my money on some Negima Figumates, a set of Ichigo Mashimaro figures, and a signed copy of ABe's "I'm an Alien and I Have a Question" (this should make Waha jealous). I met a kind anon in the gaming room who gave me his iichan button, saying he could get another for himself from BM. Omega big thanks, anon! Anyway, after attending a panel I wanted to see, I drove back home. The enb.

There's a good chance some admin is going to create such a board if there's interest in it, but if it doesn't happen then the person to ask is yourself. In other words, set up your own board. If that's too complicated, create a pointy-ear thread on adult niche/fetish (maybe there is one already?).

hay guys, what you think about firefox? is it good? i hear it has a "download them all" add-on. i was wondering since if ff's d.t.a. realy works, then that might help some of us get more out of our downloading time. opinions? thanks for sharing any ideas:)
I will rephrase: Is it kosher to use such a thing as "Download them all" in Waka? I ask as I would like to facilitate the downloading of many new pictures while not breaking some waka rule. I thank you for your time and expertise.

Using dTa will get you banned on several hosts.
Download the images you like. If you feel a compulsion to download all of them, may I suggest asking yourself why?

I of course only download what I like, and in some cases, with numerous good- especially hard to find- pics, I don't have enough time to save all I may like to. If ever another person asks this same question, I hope our disscussion will help them as well. Thank all for your time.
Get other time-saving add-ons for Firefox, like Save image in folder that does away with much of the post-download sorting you would still have to do with DTA.
